About Merge PDF
Merging PDFs is one of the most common document tasks โ whether you're combining chapters of a report, joining invoices, or assembling a portfolio. PDF Ninjas lets you upload multiple PDF files, drag them into the exact order you want, and combine them into a single download in seconds. No software to install, no account required โ just upload, reorder, and merge.
The resulting merged PDF is a true single document, not a collection of attachments. All internal links, bookmarks, and page numbering flow naturally through the combined file. The original formatting, fonts, and embedded images are preserved exactly as they were in each source document.
Merge PDF โ Complete Guide
When should you merge PDFs?
Merging PDFs is useful whenever you need to present multiple documents as a single cohesive file. Common scenarios include assembling a job application (cover letter + resume + references), combining monthly invoices into a quarterly bundle for accounting, packaging a legal agreement with its supporting exhibits, or creating a single print-ready brochure from several design files. If your recipient needs to read all the documents in sequence, a single merged PDF is always easier to manage than a folder of individual files.
How to merge PDFs in the right order
After uploading your files, you can drag and drop them to set the order before merging. The file at the top of the list will become pages 1โN in the final document, the second file follows, and so on. If you uploaded the wrong file, you can remove it individually without starting over. Take a moment to preview the order before clicking merge โ once merged, reordering requires splitting the document and merging again, which takes extra time.
File size and performance tips
There is no hard limit on the number of files you can merge, but very large PDFs (over 100 MB combined) will take longer to process. If you're merging image-heavy PDFs and the combined file is too large to email, consider using the Compress PDF tool on the merged result afterwards. Compressing after merging (rather than before) is usually more efficient because the compression algorithm can find redundancies across the whole document.
